Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen to Garden (SAKG) program is an innovative approach to food and environmental education. All students at LPS have the opportunity throughout the year to learn about planting, growing and harvesting food crops, preparing and sharing food, weather and seasons, environmental issues and building links with our local community. 

LPS has a fabulous kitchen set up which includes four student kitchen work stations with separate cook top and sink, a teacher display station which includes a cook top, two 90cm ovens, dishwashers and much more.

This program provides students with opportunities to build literacy, numeracy and social skills through a hands on, practical approach. Students develop an awareness of the fragility of our earth and the impact we have.
